Trip Whatley is the President of Holman-Whatley and Associates. After graduating from Troy State University, he began his financial planning career in Birmingham, Alabama with New York Life. In 2004, Trip returned to Dothan and joined Holman Financial Advisors. He became a partner in 2005, and the firm was renamed Holman-Whatley and Associates.

Trip recently surpassed 25 years in the financial services industry. He is passionate about helping families, professionals, and retirees bring clarity and confidence to their financial lives. A Dothan native with deep roots in the community, he has guided clients through market cycles, major life transitions, and generational change, earning lasting trust through responsiveness, care, and consistency.

Trip believes financial planning is about more than money — it is about family, confidence, and purpose. Clients often describe him as their “quarterback,” someone who helps them see the bigger picture and make coordinated, thoughtful decisions across every aspect of their financial lives. Today, he leads Holman-Whatley and Associates with a focus on relationship-driven, independent wealth management, helping clients simplify complexity and make decisions that support the lives — and legacies — they are building.

Outside the office, Trip is actively involved in the Westgate Church of Christ, where he serves as a deacon over missions, praise team, and is the Director of Benevolence. He also serves on the Westgate Christian School Board of Education. In the past, he has served on the board of the Dothan Education Foundation and the Wiregrass United Way. Trip and his wife, Staci, have three sons: John Garner and twins Henry and Thomas. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family while  remaining deeply connected to the Dothan community that has shaped his values for generations.
